Why travel to Africa with Blue Dot

Looking for an African holiday that’s more than just the usual highlights? At Blue Dot Travel, our small-group Africa tours take you beyond the brochures — from watching elephants wander across the savannah to sharing tea with locals in a remote village.

Whether you’re chasing the thrill of a classic safari, exploring ancient wonders in Egypt, or soaking up the colours of Morocco, we’ve hand-picked each itinerary to give you authentic, memorable experiences. And because our groups are small, you’ll have the time and space to really take it all in.

Planning Your African Holiday

Best time to visit

If it’s the classic safari you’re after, countries like Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, and South Africa shine in the dry season (June to October). That’s when the grass is low, the waterholes are busy, and your chances of spotting the Big Five are at their best. For cooler, more comfortable conditions when exploring cities and cultural sites, Morocco, Namibia, and Ethiopia are great between September and April.

Safari vs culture-focused trips

A safari gets you front-row seats to some of the world’s most spectacular wildlife encounters — elephants, lions, giraffes, and maybe even a leopard if you’re lucky. But Africa’s cultural side is just as rewarding: Morocco’s buzzing souks, Egypt’s temples and tombs, or Ethiopia’s rock-hewn churches and colourful festivals. Many travellers choose to mix the two for the perfect balance of adventure and insight.

Highlights & must-see spots

Nature’s bucket list in Africa is a long one. Victoria Falls thundering away on the Zambia–Zimbabwe border. Namibia’s glowing red dunes at sunrise. A cruise along the Nile as everyday river life drifts past. Each region offers something unique, and you could spend years exploring without seeing it all.
